Beach Bums

I forgot about these pictures from the beach. We went to Sunnyside Beach (between Destin and Panama City Beach). The house we stayed in was just perfect for 15 of us. It was right on the beach, which made it VERY nice and VERY easy. We went with the Silvey clan (plus Brent's aunt, uncle, and cousin). Olivia Grace LOVED playing with Colton and Chandlan. They play so well together.

At Gigi's

Last week OG and I headed to Little Rock to see Gigi. The original plan was to drop OG off in LR on our way home from the beach. However the broken arm put a kink in that plan. So we headed to LR on Wednesday afternoon. OG was able to attend VBS at our church in LR with Gigi. She loved it!! While we were there we made some yummy cupcakes with Gigi; played with Jordan; played with the Gaston kiddos; played with the Hart kiddos. Thanks Gigi for a great week!

Beach Pictures

Broken Arm

Yes, Olivia Grace broke her arm. The night before her dance recital and before we left for the beach she broke it. She was playing outside with Daddy and Dukes and she jumped off her sandbox onto a large exercise ball. When she landed on the ball (belly first), the ball rolled. As you can see in the picture she broke it pretty good. Well the rest of the story is, we didn't realize it was broken until we got back from the beach. So she danced in her recital and played on the beach for a week with a badly broken arm. I am sure you are asking yourself, "isn't her Daddy a pediatrician?" Yes he is (and a wonderful one at that), but she was using her arm. She did complain some. Brent put a splint on it at the beach. He never thought it was broken like that. Even the orthopedic surgeon was shocked that she could use it as well as she could.
So on Monday we got our hot pink cast on. We have 2 more weeks to go before our next appointment. If you know me and OG, you know we are super bummed about not being able to go to the pool and lake. We are just thankful it did not require surgary or manipulation back into place. She has been a little trooper! She has really not complained. She does ask often when she is going to get the cast off.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to a wonderful Daddy. We had a terrific day. We started off by going to church and headed to Red Lobster (Brent loves seafood) for a great lunch. Up to this point we had not given Brent his Father's Day present. Well, OG said our prayer at lunch and she thanked God for Daddy's new bike and that she hoped Mommy would get one sometime. So there you have it, Brent got a new bike. Brent and I could not help but laugh. She said it so innocently. She was thankful Daddy was getting a bike. So when we got home she gave her Daddy his new bike. Now they can ride bikes together.
After our tradition of taking a Sunday afternoon nap, we headed to the movies. We went to see the movie "Up." It was really good and OG loved being at the movies. After popcorn and coke at the movies, we ended the night with a snow cone!! I would say it was a great Father's Day. We love you Brent. You are the best Daddy ever!!!

Dance Recital

Dance Recital 09

On Saturday Olivia Grace performed in her second dance recital. She was in the Dancing Dolls class this year. She made some great friends this year. They did a tap dance to, "My Teacher Made a Dancer Out of Me." It was too cute. They also performed a ballet dance to "Tiny Ballet Medley."
Olivia Grace was awarded "Best Dancer" this year. It was a surprise to all of us. I know she didn't know what she won, but it made her Mommy and Daddyand the rest of her family proud.
After the recital everyone headed to Powerhouse for lunch. As always, she had a very large cheering crowd. Thanks for coming everyone!!!! (Not pictured the Young family and Uncle Allen).

BIG Sister

Now for some happy news! Olivia Grace is going to be a BIG sister!!! I am almost 7 weeks along. I have been feeling pretty good, just tired!! We told OG that she was going to be a big sister and then gave her a Waterbaby. I think she was a little more excited about the new baby doll. But we know she is excited about being a BIG sister. She had been talking about wanting a baby for a while now. When you ask OG what she wants she says a baby sister!! She is very sure about that. When we tell her it could be a boy she says, "NO I want a baby sister!" So we will see! My due date is January 22, 2010. We are praying for a healthy baby.

I am so glad that we had already found out that we were expecting before Nana and Granddad passed away. Nana was so excited. She called everyone she knew. She was worried that we were not going to have any more. Granddad was very happy for us as well.

We will miss you both!!

We have had a really tough last 2 weeks. It started with the passing of Brent's grandfather. He was 95 years old. He passed away on Sunday, May 24th. We knew his time was close. They had put him in Hospice. We are very glad we got to spend some good quality time with him on the Friday night before he died. He was in his right mind and he was feeling pretty good. Granddad was one of the most Godly men I knew. If he talked to you, then he made sure you were a Christian. We can all find peace in his passing with the assurance that he is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior. We will miss Grandad, but will see him in heaven one day.

So that all happened on Sunday. On Tuesday, May 26th my Nana passed away. We just lost my Pop in March and now my Nana. Nana has always had some health problems, but this was very sudden. I am very grateful that I made it to Little Rock before she closed her eyes and gave up. I am pretty sure that she knew I was there. When I started talking to her she raised her eyebrows. I hold on to that she was waiting for me to get there, because it wasn't 20 minutes after I arrived that she let go. I hold on to that she is also in heaven with Jesus and with Pop. I will truly miss her. We talked every other day on the phone. She adored Olivia Grace and Jordan.

I don't know why this all happened in the same week. But, I know that I would not have made it through it if I didn't have Jesus in my life. My prayer is that if you are reading this blog, that you have a personal relationship with Jesus. He is the ONLY way to make it through difficult times. And HE is the ONLY way to heaven. I am very thankful that my Nana and Pop and Grandad had a personal relationship with Jesus. They are in heaven today and they have no more suffering and no more pain!!!!!

The Dress

These are just a few picts of Olivia Grace and Jordan after the graduation. I have to "toot" my own horn, I made OG's dress. The only reason I tell you this is because if you know me you are probably are in shock right now. I am not a sewer. Brent has wanted me to sew for years, but I have refused. My wonderful mother-in-law surprised me with a sewing machine for Christmas.
Two of my great neighbors walked me step-by-step in how to thread my needle to the final product of the dress. I still have a lot to learn, but I do have to admit I "kinda" like doing it!!! Thanks for the machine Carla!

Cristi's Graduation

A few weeks ago Olivia Grace and I headed to Little Rock for Cristi's graduation from Bryant High School (Cristi is Ellen's step-daughter). We are very proud of Cristi. She will be attending UALR in the fall on an academic scholarship.
Olivia Grace got to see her Gigi, Dukes, and of course Jordan (aka JoJo).
